Skills & Competitions in Minecraft

* Open to Waldron Mercy Students Only

Grades: 2-6

Dates: Tuesdays ~ September 26, October 3, 10, 17, 24, November 7, November 14 (7 classes).

Times: 3:15pm to 4:15pm

Tuition:  $179/session (7 classes)

Course Description:

Experience Minecraft in a fun and educational format!  In this course, students will work on skills in Minecraft – designing, building, electronic engineering via Redstone, scratch crafting recipes, modding and lots more…  In addition, students will engage in multiple competitions emphasizing skills in teamwork and communication.  At the end of the session, students will leave with a copy of their world(s)… and everyone gets a trophy!

Learning Opportunities: Design, Construction, engineering, modding, in person multi-player, teamwork.

Computer Programming & Digital Animation

Grades:  1-5

Dates: Wednesdays ~ September 27, October 4, 11, 18, 25, November 8, November 15 (7 classes)

Times: 3:15pm to 4:15pm

Tuition:  $179/session (7 classes)

Course Description:

Whether you are completely new to coding, or want to improve your skills, join us for our Computer Programming & Digital Animation course on Wednesdays! Students will use Scratch to create responsive projects like sports games, quiz shows, cartoon animation and more. Each student will create at least one cool project and gain valuable experience with learning opportunities in designing and computer programming.  The format of this course is for students to create exciting projects while hitting on important educational components… thus combining learning and fun!  Students will take home their project(s) at the end of the course!

3D Printing & 3D Modeling

*Open to Waldron Mercy Students Only

Grades:  2-6

Dates: Thursdays ~ September 28, October 5, 12, 19, 26, November 16, November 30 (7 classes) *No class on November 23rd.

Times: 3:15pm to 4:15pm

Tuition:  $179/session (7 classes)

Course Description:

Join us to be on the forefront of one of technology’s newest trends… 3D Printing!

At 3D Printing & 3D Modeling, students learn about 3D Modeling, 3D Printing, and how to make awesome projects!  The focus of this fall course will be on architecture and 3D Modeling/Printing.  Each student will 3D model a structure (e.g. a house, castle, museum, sky scraper, bridge) and customize the design. Once complete, our students will 3D print their designs and take home their projects (please note, these replica will be much, much smaller than what you see in real life, but make sure to check out the details!)  Each student will create one main project, and a showcase will take place during the last class!

*Students may register for one or more clubs.

Cancellation/Refund Policy:  After registering, there are no refunds for cancellations and/or missed classes regardless of any reason.

Behavioral Policy:

Lavner Camps emphasizes a safe, fun, and healthy club environment that fosters learning, friendship, and fun.  Appropriate behavior in class is essential to a great overall experience for everyone.

Lavner Camps reserves the absolute right to dismiss a student without refund for any behavior (1) that threatens or endangers the welfare and/or the safety of any student, instructor, or any other person involved with the club, (2) is disruptive to the overall club environment, which interferes with the beneficial use and enjoyment by students and staff, or (3) for any form of bullying of other students or disrespectful behavior to club authority.
