Success In Coding Starts Here.
Students gain great experience with computer science using Scratch, a program designed by the MIT Media Lab, to code, create, and share projects. Scratch uses a custom programming language that is easy to understand. By moving and combining blocks of code, students develop their own super cool animation projects. Students can also make their animations interactive by including instructions, designing their character’s costumes, adding unique background images and sounds, and programming characters to dance, sing, talk, and more!
Valuable Learning Opportunities include preparing for success in coding, improving logical thinking skills, and building creativity and design skills.
Prerequisite: Students should have attended at least one week of our 2020 Scratch Summer Camp or have at least 15 independent hours of experience with Scratch. Otherwise, please start coding with us in our Scratch 101 course!
Compatible Devices: Windows PC, Mac, Chromebook
Best User Experience: Our courses require a stable internet connection. Students may also want to use headphones if their device is not located in a quiet space. You may want your child to use a virtual background when logged into Zoom if you would like to block out the view of your child’s actual background – this is compatible with a wide variety of computers.
No prior experience is necessary. This course is great for one week or multiple weeks with lots more to learn and endless possible projects!
For Beginner and Intermediate programmers in Scratch.
