2016 Waldron After School Programs
Check out our awesome after school programs for Waldron students this fall!
Please note, these programs are open to Waldron students only. If your child is not a Waldron student, please contact us for other options for this fall.
Programming with Scratch
Tuesdaysdays (3:15-4:15) – September 27, October 4, 11, 18, 25, November 8 and 15.
Tuition: $179/session (7 classes)
Campers use Scratch to create, program, and share projects. Campers code from the backend to create character actions and interactions, in addition to establishing entire interactive adventures and stories. By moving and combining blocks of code, campers develop their own programs to create super cool animation projects. Campers enjoy customizing projects and using lots of creativity.
Adding to the fun, campers can share projects easily with family and friends by creating their own links!
Game Design with Minecraft™
Wednesdays (3:15pm to 4:15pm) – September 28, October 5, 12, 19, 26, November 2 and 9.
Tuition: $179/session (7 classes)
Students create action packed games by developing storylines, customizing landscapes, installing mods, utilizing Redstone, and much more, all while working together in shared worlds on our multi-player servers!
Students engage in small and large challenges, implement cause and effect, and utilize teamwork to achieve success. In addition to creating games, students also beta test games through individual and team competitions (friendly competition, of course!) In this course, students call on a variety of Minecraft™ skills to design cool projects that others can play and enjoy!
*At the end of the last class, students should bring a flash drive to class to save all of their work.
*Students are required to have their own Minecraft™ account for a PC and bring this information to class.
*If connectivity is down, students will develop skills through Single Player.
