Fine Arts Camp

2017 Philadelphia Art Camps, Main Line Art Camp, Plymouth Meeting Art Camp, and Lower Gwynedd Art Camp!

(Ages 8 to 13):

Do YOU want to immerse yourself in the world of Fine Arts and improve your skills this summer?

If so, we invite you to enroll in Fine Arts Camp where campers learn and improve various techniques in creating beautiful artwork using pencil, ink, charcoal, oil pastels, and watercolor paint.

On Mondays, campers work with their choice of pencil, ink or charcoal.  Initially, campers create an abstract drawing and develop the discipline to draw various lines, shapes, colors, shadows, and textures.  Afterwards, campers utilize their newly developed skills to draw a subject using realism.  This subject may include an interesting object in the art room, a representation of a favorite building/landmark, a favorite animal, or object of the camper’s choosing.

On Tuesday and Wednesday, campers work with oil pastels to create a piece of art inspired by a favorite artist or masterpiece.  During this time, campers are introduced to some of the art world’s most famous artists and their masterpieces for educational purposes and inspiration!  Pieces can range from portraits, impressionistic landscapes, surreal dreams, pop art, and more!

On Thursday and Friday, campers embrace water colors to paint a beautiful landscape of their choosing.  The project will embrace the artists’ favorite place of happiness or inspiration – some examples may include the beach, a waterfall, a treehouse, the countryside, a ski mountain…

Valuable Learning Opportunities:

Immerse Yourself In Art:  By attending Fine Arts Camp, you have the entire week to learn and improve techniques, create your own masterpieces, and interact with other aspiring artists.  A great artist should not feel rushed, and an entire week at Fine Arts Camp gives you ample opportunity to work and spread your wings!

Work with Various Mediums:  By attending this week long camp, you will gain exposure to working with different mediums (like charcoal, oil pastels, watercolor), learn a variety of techniques, and see what you like best!

Learn Some Art History:  In obtaining inspiration for your Tuesday-Wednesday project, you will study some of the most famous and inspiring artists and pieces in history!  Hopefully, this will provide you with plenty of inspiration and broaden your depth of knowledge.

Meet Other Aspiring Artists:  What’s better than making friends and collaborating with other young artists!  We are excited for our campers to bring a passion for art and positive attitude to camp, creating an upbeat environment where artists can have fun and be productive!

Fun & Creativity:  At Fine Arts Camp, YOU choose your subject matter.  While we are focusing on different styles of art and techniques throughout the week, we give you the freedom of ultimately choosing and creating your own masterpieces!  With lots of time to focus on your work, and a lively and creative atmosphere, we are excited for a camp full of accomplishments and fun!

Campers exhibit their work at a Friday Art show at the end of the camp day!
